...What Up?! What Up Doe?!!

Hey Young World! So I know it's been a few days & MY do I have some news for you guys! Okay, nothing TOO juicy..But my weekend was nothing short of amazing! :) So, over the weekend, I went to see the movie "CornerStore"! In short, the film is about one eventful day that takes place at a convenience store in Detroit, MI! Due to the fact that the movie was written & produced by Detroit Natives AND filmed in Detroit it was a MUST that I supported my Hometown!

The movie DEFinitely repped for Detroit in a GREAT way in just about EVERY scene! Rather it was a T-Shirt, a phrase, or even the incidental music! It was SO funny/cool to see an actor on a movie screen say, “What Up Doe!” Hha..Good times! The end of the movie was kind of surprising, but for me it reminded me of the good old days that my Grandparents & Parents spoke of in regards to how things were handled back in the day! There was always OTHER ways to negotiate & come to a peaceful solution without having to ALWAYS resort to violence! VERY funny movie & A MUST see..You can catch it at the AMC Star Southfield or AMC John R!

In other news, Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Carter! [I'm STILL loving this whole name change situation], Happy Belated Birthday Michael Jackson, AND please continue to pray for everyone all OVER the world that has had to experience ANY kind of natural disaster & Honestly, let's ALL just continue to pray for EVERYBODY in the world in general! As my Mom would say, "This thing is real!" Be blessed EVERYone & I wish you all a prosperous & productive week! LIFE! :) ...And speaking of Mrs. Carter! In short, my personal interpretation of the song is that we are ALL bound to run into "Dog Days" (Bad Days/Periods of Life)..BUT it's up to you to persevere & FORWARD MARCH through ANY situation! Hey Guys! So, I have seen just about EVERY movie that was released this Summer! However, "The Help" was one of my all-time favorites! The movie is a certified tearjerker, so if you're a softy like me, I recommend you bring a box of Kleenex with you! I could go on & on about this film, but I wouldn't want to spoil it for those that haven't seen the movie! More importantly, I'm definitely making my way to Target this week to purchase the actual book! I think "The Help" will be the first book that my girls & I read to establish our Book Club! I'm excited! :) Also, The title of this blog post IS grammatically incorrect on purpose! However, you won't understand the significance of the quote until you go see the film! We’ve all heard that famous question, “Why do good gals like bad guys?” For me, however, it’s not a matter of liking a “bad boy”. It’s a matter of liking a little excitement every now & then! Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m NOT referring to unhealthy/negative situations. I'm referring to a guy that keeps you excited about being with him! No girl wants a super boring significant other! Besides, being a spontaneous & adventurous person in general can go a LONG way! When I think of a gentleman, the FIRST man that comes to my mind is my FATHER! He’s God-fearing, educated, well-spoken, well-dressed, caring, funny, and GENUINE! Personally, I like gentlemen, NOT cornballs! There is a BIG difference! There is nothing wrong with being courted & treated like a lady, but when it seems to be OVER the top or not authentic, I’m easily turned OFF! So let’s compare the differences: [I’m being silly, but seriously, some of these are the truth!]

Hey Guys & Gals! Did you miss me? ;) So I'm pretty sure you guys already KNOW Miami was an absolute ALL OUT BALL! Now I know everybody & their Momma has traveled to Miami..But THIS time was completely different for me! I was SO busy being in the "NOW"/"The Moment"..I didn't have time to take as many pictures because I was fully engaged with having a GREAT time with my friends & enjoying myself! However, I was able to capture some of our daily adventures & YES! Some pictures were captured off my 1st generation iPhone! HEY! It STILL gets the job done! :p So without further ado...Here is a LITTLE taste of how I spent my A M A Z I N G vacation!

We stayed at Lords South Hotel...It was the cutest boutique style hotel...I fell inLOVE with this Cleopatra painting on the wall instantly!

And of course a "Spa Day" with the girls was SO necessary AND revitalizing!I could literally look at this picture OVER & OVER again! Miami Days AND Nights are INCREDIBLE!

News Cafe is a MUST for all my breakfast lovers out there! I'm not really big on Breakfast..But according to Rachelle & Tanisha..The "Eggs Florentine" was simply delicious! Not to mention it's open 24 hours, which REALLY came in handy when we pulled "all-nighters"! :) WAIT! Another MUST for dinner is Prime One Twelve! Their food is absolutely delectable! Mmmh!

Speaking of childhood memories..Here are some of my FAVORITE children! Be certain that you will see these kiddies on a TV screen near you! These are our NEXT Presidents, CEO's, Governors, City & State Officials right HERE..I speak it into existence NOW!

...I Don't Wanna Grow UP

....I'm a Toys R Us KID!

It's funny how when you were younger you never had a care in the world! It's like nothing really mattered! You'd wake up..Brush your teeth/wash up..Eat breakfast..Get dressed..Go to school..Come home..Do homework..Play outside with your friends/toys & Then do it ALL over again the next day!

Over the weekend, one of my favorite childhood movies came on: MATILDA! I know I can't be the only one that loves that movie! Anyhow, I think it's good to get in touch with your inner child sometimes..So here's some ideas that I've came up with so far:
1. Purchase some roller blades/skates & go skating!

2. Make up dance routines with friends! [Sidenote: Me & my girls made up the cutest routine to "Super Bass" by Nicki Minaj last week..Talk about working OUT! Whew! We had a BLAST though!]

3. If you're in a relationship..Go for a walk with your significant other..BUT make sure you guys make it back in the house before the street lights come on! :p

4. Watch one your favorite childhood movies! ie. Harriet The Spy, Alladin, Hook, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, Beauty & The Beast, Snow White, Little Rascals & etc.

Lastly..
5. Purchase some sidewalk chalk & Get it POPPING! LOl! I'm talking HEAVY stars, moons, hearts, AND even a good old fashion game of Hopscotch wouldn't hurt! Staying youthful & active is SO important! What other ideas can you guys think of?!

Sidenote: Today has been absolutely unexplainable AND wonderful! I ended up talking to one of my old friends from High School AND one from college! It felt SO good to come to some kind of closure & Get updated on what's new in each others lives! God works in mysterious ways AND fast might I add & I absolutely LOVE it!
